The Unpolished Networking Event

Normally, we wear our best selves at networking events. But this makes it harder to connect with people. For this networking event, we're experimenting by doing the opposite, figuratively and literally.

What makes this different?
We're leaving the polish behind by dressing down and starting introductions with honesty instead of elevator pitches.

Each person gets two name tags to wear:
"My biggest work challenge: ________"
"My biggest personal challenge: _______"

The Rules

• Ditch the business attire. Show up in your most basic outfit. Think gym clothes, pajamas, or your most worn-in t-shirt.
• Start each introduction by talking about your two biggest challenges.
• Don't give unsolicited advice on another person's challenges. Resist the urge unless it's explicitly requested.

That's it! This event has a simple setup, but there is a surprise activity that we'll explore as a group before we end the night.
