What we’re about
I decided to create this group for neurodivergent individuals where we can all come together and connect.
What does it mean to be neurodivergent? People who consider themselves neurodivergent simply possess diverse skill sets, abilities and traits as a result of varied cognitive function, all of which are born out of having a uniquely developed brain. Being neurodivergent includes - but is not limited to - the following:
-Autism
-ADHD
-Dyslexia
-Dyspraxia
-Dyscalculia
-Dysgraphia
Some of us may align ourselves with one of above, some a combination. The only prerequisite for joining the group is that you are neurodivergent.
It doesn't matter if you've had an official diagnosis or if you're self-diagnosed; it doesn't matter what your diagnosis is (I'm a 'blended neurodivergent' myself), it doesn't matter what your sexuality or gender is, or how you identify yourself. This group is open to neurodivergents of all kinds and the ethos at the core of the group is inclusivity. Kindness, tolerance and opened mindedness are key, as is mutual respect and acceptance. I hope in time to create a collective of neurodivergents from all backgrounds where we can all come together and form a community based on unity, empowerment and embracing individuality. We should all help and support each other because you know what? Life is hard enough!!!
*** Please note that we operate a ZERO TOLERANCE approach where bullying or harassment of any kind is concerned, if anyone can't or won't adhere to this rule they will promptly be removed/barred from the group. On that note, if anyone experiences unacceptable behaviour of any kind - either directly or indirectly - then please let me know. Safety is the number one priority so please do report anything you deem to be unacceptable.
*** Please note too that this group is NOT a dating site - please do not join for the purposes of contacting members for dates. There are other Meetup groups that serve this purpose; this isn't one of them. Anyone who joins and targets group members solely for this reason will also be promptly removed and barred from the group.
