Hi all,

We received the following note from the folks organizing the Gaithersburg Book Festival next weekend (May 17, 10 am - 6 pm). We (the book club) aren't involved in the festival or its organization, but wanted to share the info. If there are a number of you who plan to attend, please use this discussion board to plan a meetup or carpool! Best,
This year, the Gaithersburg Book Festival will take place on Saturday, May 17, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the grounds of City Hall in historic Olde Towne Gaithersburg.

Our list of featured authors includes NYT Notable Books 2013 author Anthony Marra ("A Constellation of Vital Phenomena"), Alice McDermott ("Someone"), and Fiona Maazel ("Woke Up Lonely").

This all-day celebration of the written word will include 80+ author appearances, discussions and book signings; FREE writing workshops; a full Children’s Village; on-site book sales from Politics & Prose (featuring the books of the festival's presenting authors) and Friends of the Library (used books); exhibitors; and, of course, food, drink, ice cream and more from local restaurants. Admission to the Festival is free.

Our website is http://www.gaithersbu.... Once there, you can sign up to receive our monthly e-newsletter to stay up-to-date on authors, our FREE writing workshops, and more. If you visit the Featured Authors page, you can sort our authors by genre in order to help you find the authors most relevant to you and your book club members. And you can learn more about volunteering at the festival.
