2026 Wildcat Canyon

Here is the long-awaited OBNDY Wildcat Canyon Kickoff for the 2026 backpacking season. Wildcat Camp is located in an open meadow on a bluff overlooking the ocean. As always, it will be a good start for the year, especially if you have new equipment. And this is a great trip for beginners.
This year we have a group campsite. This trip will be an out-and-back hike from the Palomarin trailhead to Wildcat Canyon; 5.5 miles on well-defined trails each way, led by experienced backpacker and OBNDY veteran, Ruth. Be sure to check out Almere Falls and [the illusive and Hidden Falls.
