Hey Note Lovers, it's Carolyn here. Come join us for a Classical Tango Ensemble, at Gatineau Citizen's House!

This is part of a lovely series of performances by local classical musicians. You’ll recognize some and be happy to meet the rest at a warm, friendly, croissant-and-coffee Sunday morning performance. Come for the coffee, croissant, company and music. The continental breakfast is included in your ticket.

Today's music: tangonuevo, located at the confluence of classical music, jazz, contemporary music and traditional tango. Norteño's repertoire includes works by Astor Piazzola as well as compositions by Pierre Paul Provencher, the bandoneonist of the ensemble, also artistic director of the Ponticello Concerts

Time: Show up at 10am for coffee and the music is 11-12. We'll sit in the top back area of the breakfast lounge at a big table together.

Join us for Ontario-born Country singer Russell deCarle at the Red Bird!

"No stranger to Canadian and International audiences, Russell deCarle is recognized as the lead singer and one of the founding members of award-winning multi-platinum country-roots group Prairie Oyster. For over a decade, he has concentrated on his solo career, and has released four recordings, the most recent being “The End of the Road”.

deCarle’s music isn’t easily categorized. Apparent are influences from a lifetime spent absorbing musical genres ranging from southern soul and restrained balladry--with obvious touches of jazz and blues--to old-school country and western swing.

Russell is joined by stellar sidemen, Steve Briggs on guitar and Russ Boswell on bass. "

To make his first album in nearly 5 years, Doug Paisley stayed in his hometown of Toronto, playing with old friends and collaborators, and recording in home studios around the city. He spent the previous few years writing, and Starter Home showcases an already brilliant songwriter getting even better. The songs are rooted in the sound of folk and country, and influenced by the many years he spent performing bluegrass and American traditional music, but the themes are universal and expansive, not belonging to any genre. Today's music:
To mark the release of their most recent record, we welcome the Canadian Guitar Quartet, which has established itself as one of the most prestigious guitar ensembles in the world. The quartet has performed with numerous orchestras across Canada and performed abroad.

On the program: Bach, Mozart and Patrick Roux

Time: Show up at 7:30 for a 8:00pm EVENING show. probably to 10pm with a short intermission. (This is not a breakfast meeting like the others in this series) There is a little bar open for pre-show cocktails and intermission too.
