Joshua Redman Group at the Montreal Jazz Festival!
Details
Hey, Note Lovers, it’s Carolyn here. Come join us for the Joshua Redman Group at the Montreal Jazz Festival!
This is the week after the Ottawa Jazz Festival, and it gives us a wonderful reason to keep the music going in Montreal.
LISTEN HERE!
Joshua Redman is one of the great saxophonists of modern jazz: lyrical, intelligent, soulful, and deeply conversational. His playing can be fiery and athletic, but also warm and singing — the kind of player who makes a modern jazz set feel both sophisticated and emotionally direct.
For this concert, he brings a fresh quartet featuring Paul Cornish on piano, Philip Norris on bass, and Nazir Ebo on drums. The Montreal Jazz Festival describes this group as young, intuitive, collaborative, and shaped by a year of live performances together — exactly the kind of chemistry that can make a jazz concert feel alive in the moment.
Date: Monday, June 29, 2026
Time: 9:00 p.m. arrive by 8:30pm to meet the group
Venue: Théâtre Maisonneuve — Place des Arts

This could be a beautiful two-night Montreal Jazz Festival pairing, because we are also seeing explosive pianist Hiromi the night before, Sunday, June 28. Hiromi one night, Joshua Redman the next is a pretty spectacular pair of evenings.
Travel note: I can’t offer rides to Montreal. However, feel free to post in the discussion below if you are either able to offer someone a ride or if you need a ride. Please work that out clearly before buying your ticket.
Please buy your own ticket through the Montreal Jazz Festival / Place des Arts, and then RSVP here so we know who is coming. and cancel your RSVP if you change your mind.
Good times!
Carolyn
