The members of Noteworthy Connections are gathering for Beach Day at Balboa Pier in Newport!
Join us for a relaxing and fun-filled beach day at Balboa Pier Beach! We’ll be hanging out from 10:00 AM to anytime before 10:00 PM with Balboa Pier open until midnight, so feel free to come and go as you please!
This is a casual, laid-back day to enjoy the ocean breeze, soak up the sun and connect with fellow members. Whether you're into swimming, playing beach games or just relaxing in the sand, there's something for everyone.
🌴 What to Bring:
- Potluck-style to share or BYO food, snacks, and drinks (there are restaurants and cafes nearby if you prefer to buy something)
- A beach chair and/or towel
- Sunscreen and/or a hat
- Swimsuit if you’re planning to swim
- Layers for the evening — it can get chilly after sunset!

We recommend getting there early to find parking in the main lots (credit cards accepted) or in nearby residential areas if you can find limited free street parking.
Look for the Noteworthy Connections host(s) with our group setup as you enter from the parking lot. We’ll post exact coordinates in the event chat on the day of.
🚨 Beach Guidelines (Per City & State Rules):
- Beach Hours: Open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. (Piers remain open until midnight)
- Alcohol: Not permitted on the beach, pier, or beachfront sidewalks
- Glass Containers: Strictly prohibited on the beach, pier, and adjacent sidewalks
- Smoking: Prohibited in these same areas
- Portable Barbecues/Grills: Not allowed on city beaches; only designated fire rings near Balboa Pier or Corona del Mar are permitted for charcoal/wood use (first‑come, first‑served, 6 a.m.–10 p.m.)
- Shade Structures (e.g., canopies, tents): Must comply with size limits (≤ 100 sq ft or 6 ft tall), three sides open, placed ≥ 5 ft apart from others, ≥ 50 ft from emergency access, not within 10 ft of fire rings, and only used between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m.
- Trash and Waste: Dispose of all trash properly; owners must remove dog waste immediately
