2.6 million years ago, early humans used rocks as hammers. Today our tools are digital. Data and AI are transforming how we design, build and manage the built environment.

This talk explores the history of construction technology, how innovation has often been driven by disaster, and how data and AI are shaking up the industry. It also looks ahead to what the future holds for construction and why solving its challenges matters for everyday life.
