What we’re about
We meet regularly to watch and discuss films.
We usually see a movie together at a cinema in the Nottingham area (usually the Broadway Cinema) and then discuss it over a drink and a meal (usually in the Broadway Cafe).
We enjoy a wide range of genres: great classics, international and art films, and the latest major releases.
CODE OF CONDUCT: When we discuss a film, it is important to show respect to other people's opinions. We go around expressing each member's impressions and comments on the movie: we must let every person speak without interrupting. Disagreements are welcome, but must always be polite.

Summary:
Legendary Japanese director Akira Kurosawa (Rashomon, Seven Samurai) reimagines Shakespearean tragedy King Lear as a historical epic set in 16th-century Japan.
An ageing warlord decides to abdicate and divide his kingdom between his three sons – with catastrophic consequences. Majestic in scope, the film is Kurosawa's late-life masterpiece, a profound examination of the folly of war and the crumbling of a family under the weight of betrayal, greed, and the insatiable thirst for power.
