Car/Bus Ramble: Southwell Area Circular

What we will do: Arrive 10.15am for a 10.30am start. at Memorial Drive, off Westgate, NG25 0GD. Grid Ref. SK700538. Length 6 to 6.5 miles. We can walk beside the picturesque river Greet which looks quite different from when we first walked there a few years ago. Also we can walk through the orchard in the Easthorpe area. An Egret was spotted near the water recently. Picnic lunch outside (benches in the grounds of the minster) or possible lunch at the Minster café.

Directions by car: A612 into Southwell/ right onto Westgate/ first right down Bishops Drive which then bends to the right and then left. Carry on straight down the lane, southwards. The car park is on your left near the end of the lane.
Directions by bus: 26 Pathfinder from King Street, bus stop K1, Nottingham @ 9.40am. Get off at the 'Leisure Centre' bus stop - almost the first stop as you come into Southwell. Cross over the road and walk along the path on your left at the side of the Minster School leading to the Bishops Drive Car Park. Check times nearer to date.

Important to know: There are usually 10-15 people on these walks. A lot of the walkers will be club members and are not on the Meetup website.

What to bring: Please dress appropriately for a country walk. Wear proper walking boots, bring a rucksack with liquid refreshment and some waterproof clothes depending on the weather forecast for the day.
