What we will do: Start time: 10:30am from Borrowash Cross Roads.
Walk length 6/7 miles. Start from the cross roads near the Victoria Avenue Bus Stop in Borrowash. Walk along the riverside and into the grounds of Elvaston Castle to admire the gardens and trees including some large Redwoods. There will be time to wander around the castle area and stop for coffee. Dogs are welcome on this walk. We can have lunch either in the café or bring your own picnic to sit and eat in the grounds. An interesting spring walk.

Leader: Gareth H, Mob: 07757 234177

Directions by Car: There is a 2-hour time limit for parking at the Borrowash Co-op Car Park, but there are public toilets round the back of the Coop. It would be wise to park on a side road nearby in Borrowash. Watch out for parking restrictions on the side roads though.
Directions by Bus: Indigo (Trent Barton) from Nottingham to Victoria Avenue Borrowash. Best Indigo bus is from Friar Lane in Nottingham at 9.23am and arrives at the Borrowash, Victoria Avenue bus stop, around 10.21am. Or take I4 from Nottingham, Friar Lane Stop F, to Borrowash, Victoria Avenue.

Important to know: There are usually 10-15 people on these walks. A lot of the walkers will be club members and are not on the Meetup website.
To book a place on the walk: text Jane R on 07896725396 to give the leader some idea of numbers or sign up on Meetup. Please state your name, your contact details, the title and date of the walk when booking.
Non-walkers are invited to join us for lunch. Please advise the organiser in advance.
What to bring: Please dress appropriately for a country walk. Wear proper walking boots, bring a rucksack with liquid refreshment and some waterproof clothes depending on the weather forecast for the day.
