Car/Bus Ramble: Underwood – Felley Priory

What we will do: Arrive by 10.15am for 10.30am start from Underwood.
Walk: Length 5.5 miles. Circular walk through Underwood going via the churchyard and park, to Felley Priory and returning back on country lanes and fields. An option of a visit to the nearby bluebell wood and a possible lunch at the Felley Priory Café. Dogs are not allowed entry anywhere. Entry to the café and plant nursery are free. Entry to the gardens is £7.50p for seniors – £8.50p for other adults, free for children under 16 years of age.

Directions by car: arrive by 10.15am. Meet on the bend opposite the primary school in Underwood, Main Road, Notts, NG16 5GQ. There is free parking on the side lane going off from the main road, opposite the school on the bend. The lane is called Winter Closes.
Directions by bus: Catch the TrentBarton Rainbow One to Alfreton via Selston from Nottingham at 9.10am – Victoria Centre Bus Station or Upper Parliament Street. Get off at the Felley Hill Stop, Underwood (arrives about 10am) and walk a few yards back down the road and turn right into Underwood and keep following the road. It is about a five minute walk to the meeting point on the bend by the Primary School at the entrance to the lane called Winter Closes.

Important to know: There are usually 10-15 people on these walks. A lot of the walkers will be club members and are not on the Meetup website.

What to bring: Please dress appropriately for a country walk. Wear proper walking boots, bring a rucksack with liquid refreshment and some waterproof clothes depending on the weather forecast for the day.
