Notts Dining Co-op

The Sumac Centre are hosting a group called Notts Dining Co-op serving a regular vegan meal on the first and third Tuesday evenings of each month. As with many other such projects such as the New Art Exchange's Thursday evening events it's intended as a community meal. In a similar way to that there is no fixed charge, you can pay what you like. They recommend £2 however. It's also an opportunity to meet other people in a cosy vegan-friendly space.

I attended the one on 1st July and it was fabulous. Lots of different dishes making up a Korean rice bowl meal. The food quality and culinary imagination are high, and though there were few people there it was convivial. And it's pay what you like!!! An absolute bargain.

Past vegan offerings include paella, meatballs, tagine, enchiladas, tacos, biryani, pasta, falafel, dal, stir-fry, soup, lasagna and tikka masala. I don't know yet what this meal will be but probably something different again. Hot drinks will also be available.
