Knot 4: The Circle in the Sky (Astronomy for Wiccans)
This is Knot 4 in the series of 13 Knots. In order to attend this Knot you must meet the following criteria

You must be currently connected, or be prepared to be, with a Wiccan Coven. This is a course for those dedicated to Wicca or seeking to be part of the practice. It is not a general interest course, or for academics/researchers and a formal dedication to the practice is part of this course and required to continue into the final third of the first nine events.
You must be a Full Member of the Wiccan Federation. You can join by going to www.wiccanfederation.net and clicking on the menu titled 'Joining'
You should have attended one of Knots 1-3. If you have not attended all of these you will need to complete these during the course when they take place.

EVENT DETAILS
The Circle in the Sky is part of the Wiccan Federation's 13 Knots course. A knowledge of astronomy is important in the practice of Wicca. In this knot/lesson we will be looking at the lunar cycle and the passage of the moon through the constellations. We will also study the solar cycle and the precession of the equinoxes.
As part of this knot we will teach the recognition of the planets and also of the constellations, in particular those that make up the zodiac. By the end of this knot you should have the skills to recognise the brighter planets and some of the constellations.
In this knot we will also look at how astronomy has influenced mythology and in particular the Grail legends and the Mabinogion. This will include an understanding of how the precession of the equinoxes has influenced spirituality in the past and continues to influence it today.
This is the online version of Knot 4 for those who are on the digital course.

Those who wish to attend will need to first enter the WhatsApp group for those who are on the course and from their the actual attendees, who will also be allocated places at the next five knots, will be selected.
The Zoom code for this event will only be released into the Whatsapp group for the course.
