MATT PLESS - Nottingham, August 12th | Facebook
𝗠𝗔𝗧𝗧 𝗣𝗟𝗘𝗦𝗦 (𝘜𝘚𝘈)A long standing favorite in the DIY and folk punk scenes, Baltimore singer-songwriter Matt Pless has been making an impression on music fans since he was first noticed singing amid the protesters at Occupy Wall Street. More folk than punk, Pless is an outsider among outsiders– his wild hair and lyrical finesse bring to mind Dylan at his peak. His live performances are renowned for their fast paced energy that captivates audiences with each strum of his guitar and every impassioned lyric.
Plus support from
𝗗𝗥𝗬𝗔𝗗𝗜𝗖An inimitable balance of trad, new, romantic, feel-good and rousing traverses an acoustic spectrum with a folk-pop core and feisty smatterings of roots and gypsy at the edges.
Seamlessly smashing out feminist protest tracks, dreamy folk songs and unequivocally epic ballads with guitar, fiddle, keys, double bass and stomp. Rhythmical mix-ups underpin candid lyrics, heart-soaring hooks and intoxicating vocals to masterfully command the most diverse audience.

- Emily Breeze @ JT Soar w/ Oswald SlainJT Soar, Nottingham
Another gig at JT, and this week it's a Minty Fresh event, with Bristol's Emily Breeze and Oswald Slain!
Emily's got a new album that was released last month, Rats In Paradise, and it's great indie pop! She's here with her band so looking forward to this!
Oswald Slain apparently used to be known as Little Thief, and honestly, more of the same great indie pop! I think I might have heard of Little Thief before, but don't think I've seen them - the're a five piece band, and sound great!
Tickets are £11 in advance from:

EMILY BREEZE / OSWALD SLAIN 15th Aug @ JT Soar | FacebookJT Soar and Minty Fresh Welcome Emily Breeze and special guests Oswald Slain to Nottingham on their UK summer tour.
Bristols pop-noir chanteuse brings her perfectly formed dark pop to JTSoar as part of a UK tour. Support comes from the equally brilliant Oswald Slain (formally Little Thief) playing their brand of Americana and gritty rock who are also Bristol based.
When I first saw Emily Breeze live at The Hare and Hounds in Birmingham a few years ago it was a truly jaw dropping moment for me. I couldn’t quite believe that the band and songs were simply so fantastic and mesmerising . I always hoped they would play at JTSoar and now I get my wish. Obviously don’t take my word for how great Emily Breeze are though…..
“Emily Breeze is a bona fide star. Her intense musical vision is a jaw dropping experience” (Louder than War)
“Rebel music, the love child of PJ Harvey and Johnny Cash” (The Sunday Times)
