Do you ever have times when you feel utterly overwhelmed by worry, anxiety or fear? Or are you sometimes simply unable to think straight because the situation you're facing seems so intimidating, terrifying or daunting?

Well, in this week's online Thursday Mindfulness Meeting we'll be exploring the ways in which Mindfulness can be used as a powerful tool to help us deal better with such times in life – helping us to access control, calm, and strength, even in the midst of fear, anxiety and worry. (And thereby enabling us to handle well those tough situations in life that can feel completely overwhelming and intensely difficult.)

We'll be looking at this important topic with the help of one of the world's leading Mindfulness teachers, Tara Brach (who is also a leading and highly acclaimed psychotherapist). Plus, there'll be top tips and advice from other leading experts in the fields of psychology, meditation and neuroscience, too!

During the meeting, Tara will lead us into a deeper understanding of what is actually going on within our minds and brains when we are confronted by intensely difficult and painful life situations – and why its our fundamental biological make-up (and NOT any individual failings or personal weakness) that means we tend to handle these situations ‘badly’ and in ways that we can often later regret (or else find ourselves blaming ourself for, and criticising ourselves for, not handling things better).

In the course of the evening, Tara and other experts will share their expertise and profound understanding around this topic with us in some short but inspiring video lessons – and the evening will also include some wonderful periods of guided meditation that will help us to integrate and directly experience the methods and techniques she recommends.
