This week we'll be looking at a really important topic: How to stay calm and in control when we're angry, worried or upset. We'll be exploring this powerful (and potentially life transforming) topic with the help of some amazing teaching from THREE of the world's leading Mindfulness teachers – acclaimed British Mindfulness expert, Vidyamala Burch, renowned American psychotherapist Joan Rosenberg, and the internationally famous Zen Buddhist teacher, Thich Nhat Hanh.

During the online meeting on Thursday night Vidyamala, Joan and Thich will explain how we can use the simple and powerful techniques of mindfulness to cultivate calm and balance in our lives – even at times of peak stress, worry, fear or annoyance – and they'll their top tips and advice for maintaining (or regaining) control in those difficult moments of emotional overwhelm.

These three amazing teachers will share their expertise, advice and insight with us in three short but powerful video lessons – and, of course, leading local Mindfulness teacher, Shaun Glossop, will be on-hand to guide through this topic in a down-to-earth and easy-to-understand way. And, in addition, the evening will also, of course, include several periods of blissful guided meditation.

Here's a bit more about each of the experts who's teaching will feature in our meeting:

  • Vidyamala is a celebrated figure on today's global Mindfulness scene, being known for her expertise in using Mindfulness to manage both physical pain and emotional distress. She's is the founder of Breathworks (a leading mindfulness teaching organisation that specialises in helping those living with with life-threatening or life-limiting illnesses) and she is the author of several bestselling book on mindfulness.
  • Joan Rosenberg is noted for her work in helping people to grow (personally, psychologically and emotionally) by facing – and learning how to handle – the difficult emotions that arise in life and often de-rail us.
  • Thich Nhat Hanh was a revered Mindfulness and meditation teacher who's work has been a profound influence on the entire modern Mindfulness movement here in the West. (He was also the founder of the world famous Plum Village retreat centre in the south of France, which has established itself as one of the leading international Mindfulness teaching centres, plus he was also a famous peace activist who was nominated for the Nobel Peace Price in 1967 by Dr Martin Luther King.)

So, all together, our weekly online gathering on Thursday should be a terrific night!
