Topic: Happiness: What do I want? What’s serving me? What’s not? What do we need to be happy? Much of our culture points us to “things” that our outside us. Is it “a new job”, “a car”, a "new partner?", being thin, tall, smarter etc”. Exploring these questions can be powerful and can help us achieve true happiness and peace. On a deep level, we can identify those habits that contribute to our health and happiness? What habits hurt us? Let’s explore how mindfulness be a tool for helping us be our best self? Identify what we really want and take steps to bring us to happiness- to what we really want in life? (NOTE: you must RSVP for this event and do so one day before.) Please join us.

Welcome! Our Nourishwell Meetup groups will focus on the foundations of mindfulness and engage those interested in exploring and building their practice of mindfulness. During each group I will introduce a topic and share my reflections and offer resources for participants. We will have opportunity to explore further and discuss what these teaching mean for us and our practice. We will also participate in a guided meditation and share reflections on our experiences. My hope is that participants come away with increased self awareness and a sense of connection and community.

Mindfulness has been shown to have so many benefits including stress reduction, increased resiliency, decreased anxiety and can help us raise our own self awareness and responses to challenges within and beyond ourselves. For those who want to bring our best selves to our relationship with ourselves and others meditation and mindfulness practice can help us show up in ways that are healthier, more wholesome and open us up to real transformation. I hope to support those who seek personal transformation as an essential part of social transformation that will lead to a kinder more equitable world.

Participants will be encouraged to be present, open, ask questions and engage in discussion. We will practice mindfulness skills including awareness, meditation and grounding techniques. Whether you are new to mindfulness or have been practicing longer, my hope is that we can increase our own personal awareness and build connections with others. Over time, we can create a sense of community so essential to healing, health and mental well-being. To be mindful is to be truly alive, present and aware.

Mindfulness helps us bring kindness and compassion to ourselves and those around us. I believe mindfulness is an essential tool for those who seek to make a difference in this world. It can empower us as leaders for transformative change. I hope you will join!
