Sunday Bird Hike

Wow - Just two weeks and we have 37 members in the NOVA Bird Hike Meet Up.

Let's shoot for our first hike on February 19 - weather permitting - If it looks like the weather is not going to cooperate, I will cancel the meet up a few days in advance.

Meet at Buzz Aldrin Elementary School on Center Harbor Rd in Reston. 10:00 am. It should be a 60 minute hike (about 2.5 to 3 miles), possibly a little longer with the optional stop at Starbucks in Northpoint.

I have arbitrarily limited the attendance to 15 - if I see more interest I will raise the limit - but plan to come even if you do get waitlisted.

I'll have a local birds checklist that I use for my backyard bird count.

Good items to bring: Binoculars; bird field guide; water; camera
