NoVA (Northern VA) Furs

Come and join us for a chill Wednesday evening with fellow furs at As You Are!

As You Are is a relaxed queer bar/café located in south-east dc halfway between capitol hill and navy yard. It's easy to get to via metro; the Eastern Market stop(Orange/Silver/Blue lines) is one block away! Parking, as with almost everywhere in dc, is very limited, so public transit or carpooling is recommended.

This is not a 21+ only event, though there is a bar with drinks and food available, as well as a game room attached to the upstairs event room. Please check out the bar and get some good eats! They're very cool 🙂 **PLEASE NOTE** As You Are is 21+ after 9pm

Fursuits are allowed and very much encouraged, we(Mort) will be taking pictures of all the fun going on 😄

Unfortunately, the upstairs part of the venue is not wheelchair accessible, although the café space downstairs is.

Come on out and join us for a fun evening of conversation, laughs, friends (new and old), and delicious food. If you're looking for a chill, no-pressure event geared entirely toward meeting new furs in a low-key setting, look no further! Fursuiting is NOT allowed at this event, but tails and accessories are perfectly fine. These meets will be recurring every month at the IHOP in Fairfax. We might switch up locations in the future, but for now, this one seems to work great for us.

Zootopia 2 is coming out this month, and we have an ENTIRE theater to ourselves to watch it! Come join NoVA Furs and Weekday Furmeets, in collaboration, as we hold a PRIVATE viewing of Zootopia 2 just days after its release!

The original Zootopia movie by Disney likely needs no introduction within the furry fandom, and its sequel, Zootopia 2, will soon be out in theaters. We've reserved an entire theater for a private viewing - that's right, a whole auditorium full of furries watching the sequel to arguably the most iconic furry movie of the last decade. The theater reserved can seat up to 120 people, so barring anything crazy, there will be no attendance cap - all are welcome!

Location: University Mall Theaters in Fairfax, VA
Date: November 30, 2025
Time: Movie starts at 10:00 AM (but please arrive early, preferably around 9:30, so we can get you signed in!)
Cost: $12.50 per person (this includes admission, drink, AND popcorn!)
Fursuits: ALLOWED!!! However, please keep it SFW at all times - this is an all-ages event and we are still in a public, all-ages venue.

We will be paying the theater on the day of the event based on actual attendance, so in order to secure your spot on our list and avoid us having to chase people down for payment at the event, we are requiring that payments be submitted IN ADVANCE!! Payments can be sent to me (Velvet) via the platforms listed below. I will mark you as "Paid" on Meetup within 24 hours of receiving your payment, so if you pay and after 24 hours your status still shows as Unpaid, PLEASE don't hesitate to reach out to me!
