(Public Event) Mach 30's approach to Open-Source spaceflight

(Public Event) Mach 30's approach to Open-Source spaceflight

Details

This presentation is the 3rd of a 3-part series by Mach 30 (http://mach30.org/about/) as part of our “Apogee 2” event ( http://mach30.org/events/apogee/apogee-ii/ ). Each presentation will be a TEDx style speech followed by an intermission where you will be able to meet the presenters. There will be time for informal Q&A, and refreshments will be provided. This presentation will specifically address the Open-source community and describe their contributions to Mach 30's space-related maker projects.

"Have you ever marveled at the nighttime sky? Thought about what it might be like and how cool would it be to travel in space? Would you consider yourself a maker? Have you ever documented, or contributed to a crowd-sourced project? We do.

At Mach 30, we believe that eventually regular people like you and me will be able to travel back and forth to space. Inevitably this will be true. Our goal is to hasten that advancement so this happens sooner rather than later. Wouldn't that be cool if it happened within our lifetimes!? To accomplish that goal, we propose a new way of working towards safe, sustained, routine, and reliable access to space."

The speaker is J. Simmons, a Mach 30 Board Member (http://mach30.org/about/board-of-directors/).

Cost: $10 at the door. Kids 12 and under are free. If you reserve your seats now you’ll get 30% off! This ticket is also good for admission to both of the other presentations in the series:

• Makers

• Space Enthusiasts

The price will go up, so don’t delay!
