AC: Jewelry Making: Wire Working Workshop
Details
Make a complete bracelet as you learn how to fabricate wire links, rings, cages, drops, bead cages, and clasps. If you incorporate beads in your design, you may be able to complete a choker or necklace-length piece. We’ll be working in copper wire.
All tools are provided. Beads and 16-20 gauge copper wire are provided at no additional cost.
Bring your reading glasses if needed!!!
Prerequisite: Either “Introduction to Jewelry Making” class or some experience working with jewelry tools and wire is required prior to taking this class.
Students will learn how to:
· Create a variety of decorative wire links
· Create a spiral drop or spiral connector
· Make a wire cage for a bead or stone
· Create loops, scrolls, and figure eights
· Harden wire and file wire ends
· Fabricate jump rings and loops for connections
· Make a simple decorative clasp for closure
