AC: Jewelry Making: Wire & Beads for Beginners
Details
Want to create simple jewelry, but aren’t sure where to start? If you’re an absolute beginner, this hands-on class is for you. Just bring yourself -- we provide ALL the tools and materials you'll need, at no additional cost.
*** For this session, we’ll include beads in holiday colors, so you can make a Christmas, Hanukkah, or New Year’s gift if you like! ***
Learn all about the basic tools and materials while making components that you’ll assemble into 3 finished pairs of earrings to take home; or, if you prefer, you can create zipper pulls, a purse dangle, or a necklace piece.
Students will learn how to:
· Use chain-nose pliers, round-nose pliers, and cutting pliers
· Cut wire safely and neatly
· Open and close jump rings properly
· Use headpins and eyepins to thread and capture beads
· Use wire to form simple loops and wrapped wire loops
Bring reading glasses if needed!
Children 12 years of age or older are welcome to sign up for the class. If you wish to register a younger child, please message the instructor to discuss.
