NOVA Scribes is back in-person! We're kicking off our in-person workshops with Graphic Recording 101.

What is graphic recording?
Graphic recording is large-scale visual notetaking for groups. You'll learn what you need to know to start drawing big!

In this 5-hour workshop, we'll cover the basics of graphic recording using large scale visuals. We'll cover techniques around:

  • Markers,
  • Paper handling,
  • Color use,
  • Lettering,
  • Drawing,
  • Diagrams,
  • Listening, and
  • Synthesizing.

This workshop is meant for:

  • The facilitator who wants to build a repertoire of visual tools,
  • The graphic recorder or sketchnoter who wants to raise their game,
  • The team member who wants to bring visual methods to the team, or
  • Anyone who wants to bring the power of visuals to their work!

What should I bring?
We'll supply drawing surfaces, easels, paper, tape, and a wide selection of markers for you to try. If you already have your favorite markers or ways of taking visual notes, bring 'em!

Due to space limitations, we're limiting participation to 12 people. Register early!

After expenses, the remainder your $100 fee will go to the Whitethorne Foundation, which brings arts education to indigenous peoples in the southwestern U.S.

After the workshop, feel free to join Rachel and Brian for a no-host, informal dinner at the Wharf or Rasika (whichever gets the majority vote.)
