The Rise of Misinformation

The information age has given rise to an unprecedented amount of information, giving us much to celebrate. But at the same time, the rise of social media and other channels has introduced an incredible buffet of misinformation.

To confound the issue further, whole industries are popping up around the world around the concept of generating misinformation and controlling narratives, generating propaganda, and distorting the truth across many topics.

The potency of these efforts is showing to be substantial, and we are walking into dangerous territory moving forward into the future. What can we as individuals do about this, what is the government doing about this, and what if anything should be done about this?
