The Search for Superpowers

ESP, clairvoyance, fortune telling, mysticism, prophecy, telekinesis, and another purported human mental or physical superpowers have been claimed or otherwise noted throughout history. We continue to search for proof of any of these things.

Still, the fact that they persist and are repeatedly claimed persistently by many begs the question as to why we are collectively obsessed with the idea that we may possess some type of power beyond our natural abilities.

There are so many versions of this, from reading palms to using divining rods. One can argue that there’s an actual human obsession with claims to the supernatural. Why?
