We're all about bringing people together for casual, co-ed fun for all ages across Northern Virginia (NoVA) and the stunning Shenandoah Valley—from Alexandria and the DC suburbs down to Front Royal, Luray, and even Lexington and Natural Bridge. Whether you're looking for adventures in NoVA or craving weekend escapes to the mountains and rivers, this group is your spot for low-pressure, inclusive outings inspired by Rock River Experiences.What we do (and it's always evolving!):Outdoor classics → Hiking scenic trails, chasing breathtaking waterfalls (like Dark Hollow Falls or Whiteoak Canyon), exploring rivers with kayaking, tubing, canoeing, or relaxed floats on the Shenandoah River.
Active & lowkey fitness → Pickleball, tennis, basketball, cornhole tournaments, casual disc golf, or easy group walks/picnics in parks.
Social & fun vibes → Comedy nights (open mics or shows), live music at local spots, brewery tours, winery tastings, cideries (yes, cideries too!), craft beer hangs, or chill social meetups with food trucks/farmers markets.
And more → Scenic drives along Skyline Drive, cavern tours (Luray or Skyline Caverns), stargazing under dark skies, birdwatching, fishing, or seasonal picks like orchard visits and leaf-peeping.
The best part? All daytime events are 100% FREE forever—no organizer fees, no entry charges, no hidden costs from us! Just show up, bring your energy (and maybe snacks/water/gear), and enjoy. Of course, things like parking fees, vendor costs (e.g., kayak rentals if we use an outfitter), your own food/drinks, or personal expenses are on you—that's standard. But we never charge participants for the events themselves.For those wanting more immersion, we occasionally organize optional group vacation overnights or multi-day trips (cabins, resorts, riverfront spots, or cozy Airbnbs). We coordinate affordable group bookings through trusted vendors (VRBO, local outfitters, etc.), and you'll only pay your fair share of lodging + any direct vendor fees—no markups or organizer profits. We'll share full cost breakdowns, options, and sign-up details in advance so you can decide!Who this is for:Ages 18+ (Meetup requires all members to be 18+).
Minors under 18 are welcome with a parent or legal guardian accompanying and supervising them at all times (family-friendly hikes, picnics, etc.).
Strictly 21+ for any drinking-related events (breweries, wineries, cideries, etc.).
Everyone from beginners to regulars—solo folks, couples, friends, families (with kids supervised), and everyone in between. Co-ed, welcoming, and zero pressure—come as you are!
Events are casual and occasional (1–2 per month or as ideas spark), focused on connection, nature, laughs, good tunes, tasty drinks/food, and exploring the best of NoVA to Shenandoah.
