Fall weather begs to be enjoyed outside, with wine! This month we will visit Cana Vineyards and Winery of Middleburg.
"Welcome to Cana! We are the proud winner of the 2022 Virginia Governor’s Cup with our 2019 Unité Reserve, our signature Estate red blend of Petit Verdot, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc. Our 2019 Le Mariage also earned a gold medal, and a place in the Governor’s Case among the top 12 highest-scoring wines in the competition. Our winemaker Melanie Natoli is the first woman to win the Virginia Governor’s Cup in the competition’s modern history." How cool is that?
While outside food is welcome on their grounds, (AND indoors should weather dictate), why not leave the cooking to Cana! They recently opened the Black Oak Café on their bottom level, which serves authentic Italian gelato, New York-style pizzas, espresso favorites, and charcuterie picnics. If you bring food, please bring enough to share.
I will post my location here when I get settled on a good spot. Come prepared with a hat, jacket and sunglasses to cover all bases since I do not know where we will be. I do plan on being OUTDOORS if at all possible.
