200 million years ago, the ground you're standing on was probably underwater — and something was hunting in it. Join Audrey at Edelman Fossil Park and Museum to dig up something that outdates dinosaurs, after reading about a guy who wishes he hadn't met them! We're pairing Lost in Time by A.G. Riddle - where a scientist gets thrown 200 million years into the past and discovers he's definitely not at the top of the food chain anymore - with the real deal: a private guided tour of the Edelman museum's Cretaceous-era exhibits and then a hands on fossil dig at one of the only active fossil excavation sites on the East Coast.

Big thanks to Kat S for the suggested pairing!

💰FEE: $44 covers museum entrance and private guided tour as well as a 1 hour fossil dig. Brunch is pay on your own.

📚NOVEL: Lost in Time by A.G. Riddle
Genre: Science Fiction/Fantasy
One morning, Dr. Sam Anderson wakes up to find that the woman he loves has been murdered.
For Sam, the horror is only beginning.

He and his daughter are accused of the crime. The evidence is ironclad. They will be convicted.
And so, to ensure his daughter goes free, Sam does what he must: he confesses.

But in the future, murderers aren't sent to prison.

Thanks to a machine Sam helped invent, the world's worst criminals are now sent to the past – approximately 200 million years into the past, to the dawn of the time of the dinosaurs – where they must live out their lives alone, in exile from the human race.

Sam accepts his fate. But his daughter doesn't. [read more...]

Menu: Brunch
145 Bridgeton Pike
Mantua, New Jersey 08051
In 1982, Wenonah residents, Jim & Linda Cook, purchased the Telford Inn and made it into an exceptionally traditional dining experience. With a deep appreciation for history, the owners took on the daunting task of preserving the well known “homey” atmosphere and integrated the old & new with remarkable style.

🦖ADVENTURE: EDELMAN MUSEUM AND FOSSIL DIG
Address: 66 Million Mosasaur Way, Mantua, NJ 08080
Talk about stepping into the book! We're going back in time to the age of dinosaurs. Together we'll enjoy a guided tour of the Museum plus a 60-minute Quarry Dig experience, where we’ll dig for real fossils and uncover the ancient past. You get to keep what you find (unless it super rare)!

Wear closed toed shoes and prepare to get a little dirty - clean-up stations are available, and a change of clothes is recommended. Those who want to add on a VR experience can purchase virtual reality glasses that day.
