Writing can be so lonely. Let's be lonely together!
This is a community of writers who are serious about producing publishable, narrative projects: novels, memoirs, essays, and stories. This group is a place where we can commune, build a community, get real critique, stay accountable, and grow as writers.
We'll meet for two hours a week at a bar in Manayunk. The first part of the meeting with be social: how's work, school, the family, and your writing? Then we'll shift into the workshop. Two members will read a section aloud from a piece submitted in advance, and the group will then offer thirty minutes of thoughtful, constructive feedback. Then, we'll close the group with more social time and everyone can leave as they find time.
This group is for writers who are actively writing a project they hope to publish. That means we're looking for group members who value honesty, focus, encouragement, and accountability. We'll take our craft seriously, but also know how to laugh over a drink of choice. Your mindset should be; "I come to this group to grow as a writer, and because it's nice to get out of the house."
