Discuss "Anne In Manhattan" at the Empire Rooftop!

Details

Friends! We will be kicking off Summer in the City with books all about (drumroll, please...) SUMMER IN THE CITY! Our first book will be: Anne of Manhattan. Here is the link and the description:

L. M. Montgomery’s classic tale, Anne of Green Gables, gets a romantic, charming, and hilarious modern adaptation, set in New York City.
After an idyllic girlhood in Avonlea, Long Island, Anne has packed up her trunk, said goodbye to her foster parents, Marilla and Matthew, and moved to the isle of Manhattan for grad school. Together with her best friend, Diana Barry, she’s ready to take on the world and find her voice as a writer.
When her long-time archrival Gilbert Blythe shows up at Redmond College for their final year, Anne gets the shock of her life. Gil has been in California for the last five years—since he kissed her during a beach bonfire, and she ghosted him. Now the handsome brunette is flashing his dimples at her like he hasn’t a care in the world and she isn’t buying it.

Please note: The rooftop where we're meeting doesn't accept reservations until a few days before. I'm banking that on a Wednesday night at 5:30 we should be able to find a table and gather around for drinks/apps, but in the case that it's absolutely swamped there's also a lobby lounge. I'll touch base with all the RSVP'd "yeses" to confirm where we are once I hear back!

For July we will be discussing Judy Blume's book "Summer Sisters", and for August, Suzanne Rindell's "Summer Fridays", in case you want to get a head start on those library loans and summer reading! Can't wait to see everyone in just a few weeks! xoxo!
