What we’re about
Welcome. Truly. We’re glad you’re here.
This community exists for women rebuilding themselves after high-control religion—especially LDS/Mormonism. When your world shifts, when your inner compass wakes up, when the old answers stop working, it’s normal to feel unmoored, overwhelmed, or alone. You don’t have to navigate that in isolation.
This space is designed to support the courage it takes to untangle old conditioning, reconnect with your own voice, and cultivate authentic relationships rooted in trust, choice, and respect.
Who This Group Is For
Women who are:
- Deconstructing Mormonism or other high-control religions
- Feeling disconnected from old community and craving real belonging
- Healing from religious trauma, scrupulosity, shame, or perfectionism
- Exploring identity, boundaries, and self-trust
- Wanting warm, honest, meaningful connection with others on this path
- All parts of you are welcome—your grief, your hope, your humor, your exhaustion, your brilliance.
What We Do
We offer a blend of:
- Support circles guided by licensed therapists
- Workshops & retreats on courage, authenticity, and personal empowerment
- Somatic & experiential activities like sound baths, drumming, journaling, and creative expression
- Community-building gatherings for women seeking friendship after religion
- Occasional virtual sessions for those unable to attend in person
- Every event is trauma-informed, choice-centered, and rooted in compassion.
Facilitated by:
Megan Verno, CMHC — therapist specializing in religious trauma, identity reconstruction, and authenticity. Read her writing and join the Substack community of exMormon's here.
Together we hold a supportive, grounded, and deeply human space for women reconnecting with their inner wisdom and rebuilding their lives on their own terms.
A Note About Safety + Inclusivity
We aim to create an environment that is:
Nonjudgmental
LGBTQ+ affirming
Trauma-aware
Consent-based
Accessible to women at all stages of transition
