Come join the NSBE SIG Entrepreneurship for a Special Edition of First Tuesdays! This will be the last first Tuesday of the year!

We have the Central San Diego Black Chambers of Commerce President Donna DeBerry and Calab's Kids Founder Kiesha Jackson on The Year of Black Business 2021.

They will provide strategies of how to prepare your business to succeed next year.

This includes how to start a nonprofit, dos and donts, accessing capital, and more!

We'll also be making announcements for our plans in 2021.

About Donna DeBerry
Donna DeBerry is a global leader and expert consultant strategist with 20 years of experience in the field of inclusion and diversity. She specializes in innovative tactics that include retooling business practices, implementing new technologies and pursuing advanced strategies that lead to an inclusive culture. She has successfully provided transformational strategies for some of the largest Fortune 500 companies in the world, She learned leadership skills and the spirit of winning from her consultant work with the National Football League and the United States Olympic Committee.

Because of her success in all dimensions of inclusion, diversity and equity, and her activism for people, her work has not gone
unnoticed. DeBerry’s success has been featured in some of the world’s top-rated print, electronic, and broadcast media including such magazines as: Fortune, Newsweek, Time, Essence (Top 50 Women Shaping the World issue), Black Enterprise, and Diversity Inc. She also has been profiled in a wide range of other media. Her clear and unique approach to Diversity was, and still is, “Inclusion and Diversity are critical elements for global business growth.”

Donna DeBerry is certified in Inclusion and Diversity from Yale University, Inclusive Leadership from Harvard University, Cultural
Intelligence (CQ), Unconscious Bias, and a graduate from Thomas Edison State College – B.S. in Diversity.

About Kiesha Jackson

Kiesha Jackson is the Founder and Executive Director of Caleb’s Kids, a nonprofit whose mission is to create a transformative educational experience for families focused on mental wellness and preventing suicide completion through innovative and evidence-based program delivery. Under her leadership, Caleb’s Kids has provided scholarships to high school seniors, sponsored holiday care and wellness benefits for surviving families of suicide loss, and has provided life changing outreach, materials, and workshops to thousands of Detroit Area youth and parents. Kiesha is passionate about mental health education, awareness, and advocacy, specifically as it relates to youth. She is 2019 National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) – Michigan Administrator of the Year Nominee, and a 2020 NAMI-Michigan Special Honoree Award Recipient.
