NSLondon 2023.2 at AWS

Details
We’re excited to be putting on an event during WWDC week focused on server-side Swift and hosted by Amazon. Food and drinks will be provided, and we’ll make sure there‘s plenty of time to chat about Apple’s announcements and iOS 17. After the event, you’re very welcome to join us at a nearby pub.
Doors open at 18:30, for talks from 19:00.
We’re aiming to have some quieter spaces to the side available if anyone has WWDC lab appointments during the evening.
We’ll have two complementary talks:
Swift, Serverside, Serverless
Sebastien Stormacq
Swift developers have many options to deploy server-side code, but did you consider serverless, with no server to manage or to scale by yourself, and only paying for actual usage? This talk will show how to deploy server-side Swift applications on AWS Lambda. I'll start with a traditional Vapor app running unmodified, then we will deploy native Swift Lambda functions.
Serverless in Swift Like a Breeze
Andrea Scuderi
Learn how to structure a full-stack mobile app using Swift and a serverless REST API. The talk will cover the fundamentals of serverless application based on APIGateway, Lambda and DynamoDB and provide a quick start guide for developing a serverless REST API with Breeze, a Swift package developed specifically for this purpose. There’ll be a live demonstration of how to use Breeze to generate Swift serverless REST API and how a mobile app can share the data model with serverless.
We have a busy month in June as we also have a WWDC keynote viewing party at Deloitte Digital to kick off this week.
