Dicey Developments with North Shore Nerds and Essex County Gamers

We've partnered with Essex County Gamers for a day of board gaming with a polyhedral focus. Myself and Liz will be hosting a tournament of a fun 1v1 Yahtzee-style brawler game called Dice Throne for attendees to learn and enjoy, though we invite everyone to bring their favorite dice game for teaching and playing. Participating in the tournament is optional and the theme is intended to be loose. The most important thing is community and fun!

This board game day is generally suitable for all ages and is open to members of North Shore Nerds and members of the public. Spots look like they may be a bit limited, so please only RSVP if you intend to come and update us if plans change.

Food and beverages are allowed in the Sohier Room. Many gamers bring lunch or get carry out lunch on Cabot Street after the morning games, but we will explicitly be making a pizza order from Amazing Pizza that closes at 11:30 so bring cache or have Venmo available if you wish to participate in the group order.

Dice Throne Tournament Details

Dice Throne is competitive dice-based battle game. Our tournament will be a set of 1v1 brackets with characters from Dice Throne seasons 1 and 2 (16 characters in total). Spend the morning learning the game and the characters to join the tournament. Players will draft characters in a randomized order and participate in up to 3 rounds of play to beat their rivals in the bracket and walk away as “Royal Champion”. Plan your strategy, learn a few characters, and use your wit to make it to the top!

Schedule

9:00AM - 12:00PM - Vince and Liz from North Shore Nerds teach the game!
12:00PM - 1:00PM - Break for lunch and tournament sign-ups. A pizza order from Amazing pizza will be placed for those interested at 11:30AM. Bring cash or Venmo if interested.
1:00PM - Tournament Begins! We expect Up to 3 rounds of tournament play ending between 3:00PM and 3:30PM
