Talk: Chat with your Data

Today's language models enable effective, natural language access to data, including fully automated synthesis of responses. But how does their architecture differ from traditional database management systems? How can language models be used to generate queries for custom data models? In which types of data models do language models encounter limitations? When is traditional data modeling essential? What challenges must be overcome when introducing language models for data management?

This talk demonstrates how language models can be used to generate natural language queries for custom data models and (relational) databases. Using a simple example, it highlights the limits and best practices to help onboard data analysts and quickly achieve results, even with complex data models.
