A true Mexican culinary star and TV personality, Chef Saul Montiel brings 25 years of passion, precision, and creativity to the kitchen. Born and raised in a small town in Hidalgo, Mexico, he grew up surrounded by the bold aromas and flavors of traditional Mexican cooking. After making his mark at some of NYC’s most notable restaurants with top chefs like Sara Jenkins, Jody Williams, Josh Capon, Anne Burrell, and Amanda Freitag, Montiel took the reins at Cantina Rooftop in 2018 as Executive Chef. Here, he masterfully blends authentic Mexican recipes with Mediterranean and Italian influences, creating a contemporary, flavor-packed menu that has drawn food lovers from across the globe.
