In this session, I will provide an in-depth look at AWS's upcoming European Sovereign Cloud (ESC), including the latest announcements.

With a significant investment of $7.8 billion, AWS is positioning the ESC as a critical component for businesses prioritizing data sovereignty and trust.

The European Sovereign Cloud is designed to address political uncertainties, ensuring that customer data remains fully sovereign and compliant with EU laws.
The launch is targeted for the end of 2025 in Brandenburg, Germany.

The ESC will keep customer content and metadata completely within the EU. It will be completely separate and independent from the AWS cloud and all its Regions, featuring separate IAM and billing systems.
Day-to-day operations, technical support, and customer services will be provided only by EU residents.

We will also take a closer look at the legal structure of the ESC.

The ESC will launch with a comprehensive selection of AWS services.
