Robertson Mt, Stony Man, Indian Run, and Corbin Mt (Rating: A+)

The hike is about 18 miles with 4700 feet of elevation gain in Shenandoah National Park. From the Old Rag bus parking lot, we take the Weakly Hollow Fire Road, turn right to cross over Robertson Mountain, then turn right and continue up the fire road to the Skyland Big Meadows Horse Trail where we join the AT at the Stony Man Parking Lot. Heading north (right) on the AT, we go to and ascend the Stony Man summit then return to the AT going north to the Crusher Ridge Trail to Nicholson Hollow Trail, right on Indian Run Trail, left on Corbin Mountain Trail, right on Nicholson Hollow Trail, then left on the Weakly Hollow Fire Road to return to our cars in the parking lot.
There are several stream crossings along the Nicholson Hollow trail that will involve walking over boulders. The rocks can sometimes be slippery if it has recently rained. Otherwise, rainfall has been low this summer and the boulders have been high above the stream water levels.
We hike at an average moving pace of 2.8 to 3.0 mph.
You must be experienced in hikes of this distance, elevation gain and pace. If I do not know you, please send me information on your recent hiking ability so I will know that you can participate on this hike.

The hike leader will meet at the trailhead at 7:45AM. Hike begins at 8AM.
For those wishing to carpool, the suggested carpool location is at the Centerville P&R, 14700 Lee Highway, Centreville, VA. The driving time from there to the trailhead is about 1 hour 15 minutes. Please arrive at the Park & Ride early to form carpools so all cars can leave by 6:30 AM.

PLEASE NOTE: Neither the Club nor the hike leaders are responsible for coordinating transportation to/from the trailhead. Hikers are not guaranteed to get a ride to the trailhead from the carpool location. Carpooling is organized by the participants, and they participate at their own risk.
