DESCRIPTION
The hike starts at Bethesda Metro. After a lengthy approach walk along the beautiful Capital Crescent Trail we will descend into Little Falls stream valley, and hike along the pretty stream to MacArthur Boulevard. After lunch at the shopping area on Sangamore Rd, we will make our way back to Bethesda. Optional post-hike cupcake (at Georgetown Cupcake), ice cream, or frozen yoghurt. Total distance hiked will be about 9.5 miles. Although we largely retrace our steps, it is not entirely an out-and-back hike. Speed: 2.5 to 3.0 miles/hour. Capital Crescent Trail carries a lot of bike traffic and can be crowded - heads-up. We will stop from time to time to regroup. The trail will be a combination of hard surface and dirt. Trail can get quite wet and muddy - hiking boots recommended.
DOGS: Permitted per Club policy.
CARPOOLS: Not applicable.
PARKING: Free parking is available Sundays in the lot on Edgemoor Ln, or along most streets.
