Little Devil Stairs/Piney Branch Loop (Rating: A)

Early start to beat the heat!

This is a scenic hike of 8 miles and 2014 ft. elevation up a gorge. We'll hike up Little Devil Stairs with several stream crossings, then cross over to descend Piney Branch trail until it intersects Hull School and Keyser Run fire road back to the parking lot. Poles are recommended due to the stream crossings, as well as an extra pair of dry socks.

Carpool Parking: Meet at the Centreville Park and Ride in time to depart at 6:45 am. Suggested carpool fee is $6. I will be at the carpool location in a gray Honda CRV. Centreville Park and Ride Coordinates: 38.83735,-77.45773

Trailhead Parking: Meet at the trailhead no later than 8:00 am so we can start by 8:15 am. The parking area is very small, so I suggest carpooling. It's a 1hr 10min drive from the Centreville Park & Ride lot, so plan appropriately. Parking coordinates (Little Devil's Stairs Loop Trailhead in Maps): 38.7306, -78.2583

Neither the Club nor the hike leaders are responsible for coordinating transportation to/from the trailhead. Hikers are not guaranteed to get a ride to the trailhead from the carpool location. Carpooling is organized by the participants and they participate at their own risk.
