Trumbo Hollow to Mosby Campground (Rating: A; ***FAST***)

This is a brisk A-level Friday morning workout. The hike is about 9.7 miles with 1900 feet elevation gain in AT. We will start at Rt 55, go south on the AT, pass Trumbo Hollow, Jim and Molly Denton shelter, until we reach the junction for Mosby campground, where we turn around. On the way back, we will make a quick stop at Jim and Molly Denton shelter (around 6.5 miles in), before returning to the car.

We hike at a pace of 3-3.5 mph when moving. Faster on flat/downhill sections. This is considered a fast hike. We target to complete this hike no later than 11:30 so you'll have a good part of Friday for other errands that life also calls for. You must be experienced in hikes of this distance, elevation gain and speed.

The hike leader will meet at the trailhead at 8AM.

For those wishing to carpool, the suggested carpool location is at the Centerville P&R. The driving time from there to the trailhead is about 45 minutes. Please arrive at the Park and Ride a few minutes before 7:15AM to form carpool so all cars can leave at 7:15AM.
Suggested carpool fee is $5.
PLEASE NOTE: Neither the Club nor the hike leaders are responsible for coordinating transportation to/from the trailhead. Hikers are not guaranteed to get a ride to the trailhead from the carpool location. Carpooling is organized by the participants and they participate at their own risk.
