DESCRIPTION
On this workday urban hike we will explore the beautiful town of Takoma Park, MD, just to the east of Washington DC. Starting at Takoma Metro station (Red Line), we will walk along Carroll St to its junction with Sligo Creek Trail. We will walk North on SCT to Piney Branch Road, where we will turn left. On our way back, we will explore the Jessup Blair Park. The leader knows the area but is not familiar with the exact "trail;" be prepared to get lost/retrace our steps a couple of times. Optional post-hike lunch at Red Hound Pizza. Casual walking pace of 2.5 mph with stops to regroup. Mostly hard surface, although portions of dirt trail cannot be ruled out.

CARPOOLS: Not applicable.
PARKING: Not the most convenient place to find public parking for over two hours; there are a couple of lots. Metro recommended instead.
