Hemlock Overlook on Bull Run Occoquan Trail (Rating: C)

Join me for an 7 mile out and back on the Bull Run Occoquan Trail from Hemlock Overlook Regional Park to Kinchloe, with about 700 ft. elevation gain. Poles are recommended for the rocky terrain near the river. The hills are gradual, but please make sure you are comfortable with the rocks, roots and pace. There is no restroom at the trailhead, so you may want to stop on way. Please note that trailhead parking is limited, so carpooling is encouraged. If you haven't been on one of my hikes before, please send your contact details via private message with last name, cell and emergency contact number.

Post-hike rehydration at Paradise Springs Winery for those interested (located across the street from the parking lot). You may bring your own food (picnic area only), or purchase something from the winery. LIVE MUSIC starting at 1pm. Solace Brewing will also be there.

Meeting Place Instructions: We are meeting at 8:45am to sign in so we can start promptly at 9am. Look for the dirt parking area on the right side of Yates Ford Rd, across from Paradise Springs Winery.

Finding the trailhead can be difficult if you are not familiar with the area. Use 13220 Yates Ford Road, Clifton VA 20124 for Google directions. You can also plug in Paradise Springs Winery. Do not put Hemlock into your GPS as that may take you to a different parking area.
