This is a 7.9 mile hike with 450 feet of elevation gain around lakes and among the woodlands of North Reston. We will begin at the Lake Newport Tennis Courts in Reston and take various trails and paved paths through Reston. About 70% of the hike is on paved paths. Along the way we will pass lakes Newport, Anne and Fairfax, hike on the west side of Lake Fairfax Park, along the W&OD equestrian trail, Hidden Creek Country Club golf course and pass through Reston Town Center and Lake Anne Plaza. Slightly before the halfway point we will stop for a snack break. Two small stream crossings required.
Restrooms are available at the Lake Newport Tennis Courts and in Reston Town Center.
