Memorial Day Sunset at Angel's Rest!

Details
It's Memorial Day - what better place to pay silent reverence to those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country than an evening at Angel's Rest.
We'll do a bonus loop heading up toward Devil's Rest that will add two miles and 400 more of elevation. When we make our way back to the Angel's Rest lookout point, the sun will be getting low in the western sky and the views looking up and down the Gorge will be simply stunning.
We'll head back down before dark, but it will be low light conditions the last mile, so everyone should bring a headlamp or flashlight.
This hike will be at comfortable pace, but the added distance and elevation gain makes this a little more difficult and time consuming than just the typical Angel's Rest outing.
Length: 6.5 Miles
Elevation Gain: 1850 ft
Difficulty: Moderate due to elevation gain, rocky terrain, cliffs
Dogs: No
I always encourage ride sharing as it's best for the planet, pocketbook, and helps reduce parking hassles at the trailhead, but unfortunately, I will not be organizing a Portland area carpool location.
We will meet at the trailhead bench/reader board at the lower parking area on the Old Columbia River Highway and we will start our way up at 5:30 so please arrive at least 5 minutes prior to departure.
