Archer Mountain, WA

Archer Mountain is on the Washington side of the gorge s few miles west of Beacon Rock. The hike is about 5 miles with about 1500 feet of elevation gain. Coming from the west on highway 14 you turn onto Smith Cripe Road a short distance after the milepost 29 sign There is a yellow sign for Smith Cripe Rd. just before the turn. The trailhead is at the upper end of Smith Cripe Rd. There is no parking pass needed and no restroom. A restroom is at the Cape Horn trailhead several miles before Smith Cripe Rd. (if coming from the west). The map shows the intersection of 14 and Smith Cripe Rd. We are meeting at Archer Mountain trailhead (also known as High Valley trailhead) not Cape Horn trailhead. Car pooiing is possible if interested.
