Have you seen the dances in Bridgerton or Pride and Prejudice? It's kind of the same thing but with a caller teaching you how to do it.

Fayetteville Traditional Dance Society (FTDS) hosts contra dances the 3rd Saturday of every month. You can look forward to an evening full of contras, squares, circles, and waltzes. All dances are taught and called. No previous experience or partner is required. It’s easy and fun. Just a short walk through lesson and you’re ready to dance!

Location:
Dances are held monthly at 1 South Main in Greenland, AR, just 6 miles south of the Fayetteville square (see the map below).
From Fayetteville, head south on Business 71 to the first (only!) traffic light in Greenland, turn right and it's on your left. Or, take the Greenland exit from I-49 and head east. When you cross the RR tracks, it's on the right.

Dances are held on the third Saturday of each month at 7:00-9:00pm. Doors open at 6:30pm. Beginner instruction for Contra starts promptly at 7:00pm.

Admission:
Admission is $10 per adult dancer, $5 for students, and a maximum of $40 per family (immediate family living under one roof). Cash only (sorry).

Dances are open to the public, dress is casual and they recommend flat, comfortable shoes. Bring a sweat rag and water!

All dances have live music provided by The Old 78s. You can find them at www.theold78s.com.
