65th Hardware Meetup: Virtual Edition

It’s been WAY too long since we all got together. Seeing as we won’t be meeting in person any time soon, we’re going virtual!

For our first online meetup, we’re keeping things short, sweet, and topical. Two speakers will talk about how the global pandemic has changed their businesses and industries at large.

We’ll share a Zoom link sponsored by Rush Order (https://rushorder.com) closer to the event. Rush Order provides global warehousing, multi-channel order fulfillment, and in house customer support for hardware startups to large enterprises.

Here’s our rough agenda for the evening:

7:30 - 7:45pm "Arrival" - BYOB+P (bring your own beer and pizza)

7:45 - 8pm Welcome + notes

8 - 8:20pm Rich Mokuolu, cofounder and CEO of Partsimony (https://www.partsimony.com/). Partsimony changes the way growing hardware companies discover new vetted manufacturers and collaborate with their existing network. Rich will talk about how the pandemic has upended global supply chains and what that means for hardware startups in NYC and beyond.

8:20 - 8:40pm Haytham Elhwaray, grandfather of NY Hardware Meetup and CEO and cofounder of KINETIC (https://www.wearkinetic.com/). Kinetic builds wearable devices that help reduce workplace injuries in the industrial workforce. Haytham will disucss how COVID affected KINETIC's operations (badly), how they converted it into an opportunity (phew), and what he thinks is the future of the industrial workforce (hint: it ain't robotics for at least 50 years).
