What we’re about

New York LGBTQ+ Photographers is a safe space for photography enthusiasts of ALL skill and experience levels and interests – beginners to experts, hobbyists to professionals, members using mobile phones through individuals using advanced equipment.

  • We host one in-person event and one or more Zoom calls per month, providing a venue for members of different identities, backgrounds and skill levels to interact in a respectful and supportive environment.
  • We aim to offer learning and growth opportunities to our members covering a wide range of areas – such as subject selection and composition, choice and use of equipment, shooting, post-processing, and ways to organize and secure your photos.
  • We also present opportunities to discover and celebrate the creative work and contributions of LGBTQ+ photographers – past and present.
  • Most importantly, we want to inspire each other and HAVE FUN!

Allies of the LGBTQ+ community, non-photographers and people living outside the NY area are welcome to join and participate! For the benefit of our out-of-town members, we intend to continue Zoom programs as we emerge from Covid restrictions.

We love looking at the world through a camera lens, and we think this makes for a great reason to get together, learn from each other and socialize!

**NY-LGBTQ+ Photographers is committed to providing a safe and welcoming space for participants of all identities, ages, backgrounds and skill levels. We have a zero-tolerance policy for offensiveness, discrimination, harassment, disrespect, stereotyping, or any other inappropriate behavior during our in-person or virtual events or through communications.
